Lake McDonald is the largest lake in Glacier National Park. In winter it partly freezes, and at sunset the peaks above it catch a warm alpenglow while the water stays a deep cold blue.
Alpenglow is the reddish light seen on mountains when the sun is low or just below the horizon, caused by light scattered through a long path of atmosphere.
